Dr. Gladen Flores Address Senior Class 2004

SSD Associate Education Director Dr. Gladen Flores emphasized the significance of Adventist Education in the lives of 157 members of graduating class ’04. Dr. Flores was the speaker of the 87th Commencement Exercises held in PIC on March 28. As an educator he promoted the impact of Adventist education using multi-media equipment giving the graduates and the audience not only words of inspiration but also factual and up-dated information. Besides the guest speaker, parents and Academy faculty other important persons present were Dr. Erlinda Alcorin, Dean of the College of Education who introduced the speaker and Prof. Emyflor Monebit, Vice President for Academic Affairs who formally welcomed the graduates to the college. She spoke in the absence of newly elected AUP president Dr. Robin Saban who was having a speaking engagement in the alumni homecoming of the Silang pioneers.

The graduates donated 60,000 pesos as their class gift to be added to the Academy gymnasium/auditorium project spear headed by the Home and School Association. The construction of which is scheduled to start this summer. Other speakers of the Graduation services were Dr. Adrie Legoh for the Consecration and Pastor Dal Man Khan for the Baccalaureate, both professors in AIIAS.

The Commencement program ended with the graduates’ touching rendition of the song composed by Andrea Jade Manez entitled “To the Zenith” which is also the class philosophy. The Officers of Batch 2004 are Marvin Rey Velando: President, Ariel Will Durante: Vice President, Milliscent Ann Maalihan: Secretary, Jeanette Tapia: Associate Secretary, Christian Tapia: Treasure, Samantha Jean Loh: Associate Treasurer, Marven Roy Adap: Class Pastor, Bob Magro: PRO, Arianne Velasco and Alon Mondejar: Artists. The Senior Class advisers are Ms. Nera N. Valdez, Mr. Peter Datoy, and Mr. Marcelino Dano.
