CAT Tackles Tactical Inspection By: Elmie Lynn V. Lagajino 2004-04-21 17:04:15.589314
With an average of 97.5, the CAT cadets/cadettes managed to pass this year’s unexpected Tactical Inspection. The facing out of Citizen’s Army Training (CAT) in the High school curriculum was just a fantasy after all. Headed by NPUM Youth Director and NSO Major Acosta, Jesse, the NPUM NSO tactical inspection team arrived promptly at 7:30 a.m. on March 15. After the arrival of honors they immediately inspected the Pathfinder Club under Master Guide Jeruel Ibanez, Pathfinder director. Then under the command of Cdt. Lt. Col. Razo, Machay, corps commander, the Academy CAT unit smartly marched onto the field defying the eleven o’clock sun to perform the parading ceremony to signal the beginning of the whole day’s ordeal.
The NSO team evaluated the unit in the following areas: pass and review, military stakes, rank inspection, CAT office, problem solving, and theoretical exam. At the end of the day, the evaluation team disclosed the scores and the general average. Honorable mention goes to Privates Andros Sy, Milliscent Maalihan, and Rose Esgana for placing first, second and third respectively, in the exam. Perfect scores were given to Guidon Bearer, and COQC trainee Sigfred Kit Lagajino for the squad drill and Corps Commander Machay Razo for the liter drill, map reading, military courtesy and discipline, and principles of non-combatant. Credit also goes to 2nd. Lt.Moratalla Mark and Cpt. Manalang, Maryglor for leading the problem solving activity for platoon and company drills. Lagjino, Moratalla and Manalang are all third year students. Maximum points were also given to the band and community activities documented in more than ten scrapbooks and photo albums. The CAT is under the leadership of Commandant NSO 2nd Lt. Torres, Aser Neph.
